What’s the Differential?
The “differential”, when speaking about the running shoe, is the difference in millimeters of the rubber layer placement under the heel compared to the same place of the forefoot protection.
Shoes A3 – Maximum Cushioning
The category “Maximum Cushioning” belong to those shoes which usually have a good spread between the heel and forefoot. They are the most used by runners in training and are strongly recommended for any kind of mileage. Ideal for athletes with a neutral gait, and for those who use custom orthotics.
Here we analyze how the foot meets the ground in the act of running. The first contact is usually in the rear external part of the shoe. As the arch lowers and is crushed by the weight of the body, the movement is called pronation. The phase of pronation stretches and loads the calf muscle which subsequently pushes the body forward, which is accompanied by a movement of the foot called supination.
